Hozier: Nina Cried Power EP

Irish Artists

After a long four-year wait, Hozier fans today are delighted to get a new batch of songs from the Wicklow-born artist.

Nina Cried Power dropped this evening after several months of teasing from Andrew Hozier Byrne. The artist has kept a low profile for the last year, but eyebrows began to raise when he announced a 17-city North American tour set to begin on September 15th.

Announced on August 31st via a tweeted handwritten note, Nina Cried Power is comprised of four songs that fans already love: “Nina Cried Power,” “NFWMB,” “Moment’s Silence (Common Tongue),” and “Shrike.”

“FINALLY THANK U GOOD KING OF THE FOREST <3333 IM SO EXCITED,” tweeted one fan.

“I’m so excited omg I knew there was a reason I haven’t gone to bed yet. This announcement is it,” said another.

Hozier released his self-titled debut in September 2014 and quickly rose to international success. Immediately, fans were drawn to his haunting voice and stunning compositions, carried by lyrics that have an innate poignant efficiency.

“Take Me to Church,” the albums flagship single, was nominated for a Grammy and took home gold at the BBC Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and Teen Choice Awards. His bluesy rock’n’roll sound combined with powerful poetry carve him out a spot in the hearts of music-lovers everywhere, and we’re beyond excited for the rest of his album slated for early 2019.
