Jack Savoretti released his debut studio album, Between the Minds, <\/em>back in 2007 and the album peaked at number 5 in the UK Indie Chart. His following albums went from strength to strength as he pulled on influences of Americana, folk, indie and rock. 2015\u2019s Written in Scars <\/em>peaked at number 7 in the UK Albums Chart and 2016\u2019s Sleep No More <\/em>landed at number 6. Jack\u2019s 2019 record Singing to Strangers <\/em>earned him the top spot in the UK Albums Chart and has amassed over 65 million streams globally.<\/p>\n

The foundations for Jack Savoretti\u2019s eagerly anticipated seventh studio album Europiana <\/em>were laid within the writing and recording process of Singing to Strangers. <\/em>Whereas the 2019 number one album was recorded in Ennio Morricone\u2019s studio in Rome, Europiana <\/em>was produced in more constructed in more casual settings.<\/p>\n

Writing sessions took place at Jack Savoretti\u2019s home in Oxfordshire in between lockdowns last year when he and his band were able to create the world of Europiana<\/em>. Not only is Europiana <\/em>the name of the record, but it is also a term coined to capture the spirit of the songs and the sun-soaked influences they absorb.<\/p>\n

Blessed with the weather that last summer brought, Jack Savoretti took influence from these moments of refuge with friends and family to produce a record which the term Europiana <\/em>encapsulates. Long summer nights spent with loved ones with good food and chilled ros\u00e9 just about sums up the process that inspired Jack Savoretti. With throwbacks to summers spent in Italy and other parts of Europe mixed with the appreciation of his family relationships, Savoretti presents Europiana <\/em>in the same way that Lana Del Rey presents the modern concept of Americana.<\/p>\n

Following the writing sessions, the album was recorded at Abbey Road where Jack Savoretti was joined by his longstanding band as well as newcomer and friend Gizmo Varillas who helped to provide new directions in terms of rhythm and groove. The striking string sections throughout the album were arranged by violinist and close friend Phil Granell. The sun and fun of the writing and recording processes ooze into Jack Savoretti\u2019s latest project. The London born singer-songwriter has found his path and it\u2019s one that he walks along with supreme confidence and undeniable joy. Europiana <\/em>is the record\u2019s genre, it is its ethos and it is the experience that the album provides to the listener.<\/p>\n

The two singles released to date provide a glimpse into Europiana. <\/em>Both Who\u2019s Hurting Who <\/em>and Too Much Joy <\/em>are warm, glowing and blissful tracks that find Jack Savoretti focusing on more upbeat and dance-orientated compositions. Who\u2019s Hurting Who <\/em>features snappy disco guitar licks and a driving drum beat and bass combination. Too Much Joy <\/em>is a summer disco jam that is packed full of exquisite string sections, a groovy bassline and Savoretti\u2019s catchy vocal hooks.<\/p>\n
