This platinum selling psychedelic pop group have made a name for themselves with their dream-like song sequences and innovative electronic performances.\u00a0 2020 is now set to be a big year for the band, as its much awaited third album is soon to be released in July.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"copy","copy":"<h2><b>Origins<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Glass Animals was formed in Oxford, England during 2010, when childhood friends Dave Bayley, Joe Seaward, Ed Irwin-Singer and Drew MacFarlane got together to start creating music.\u00a0 The true genius behind their music is lead singer, songwriter, and producer Dave Bayley, who is bursting with musical innovation.\u00a0 Glass Animals\u2019 first album in 2014 entitled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zaba<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received worldwide critical acclaim as their new psychedelic pop sound started grasping the attention of audiences beyond the UK.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Zaba<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2014\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zaba<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> included the singles \u201cPools\u201d, \u201cHazey\u201d, and \u201cGooey\u201d, the latter eventually going platinum in the United States.\u00a0 The album spawned a worldwide tour in 2015, which included two sold out shows at The Wiltern theatre in Los Angeles and features on The Late Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Seth Meyers, the band performing \u201cGooey\u201d on both shows.\u00a0 On the back of the album\u2019s critical success, Glass Animals went on to play over 140 dates around the world, including performances at Coachella, Glastonbury, and Lollapalooza.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>How To Be a Human Being<\/b><b>: Album and Tour<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The band\u2019s second album <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to Be a Human Being <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">received widespread critical acclaim for its trance-like &amp; psychedelic pop sounds.\u00a0 The album\u2019s release date coincided with the release of its single \u201cLife Itself\u201d and its accompanying music video.\u00a0 How to Be a Human Being\u2019s<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">other single, \u201cYouth\u201d, also went on to receive positive reviews. Glass Animals then decided to embark upon a tour of Australia and North America, the biggest appearance being their spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Dublin<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having successfully performed at Dublin\u2019s Olympia Theatre in 2016, Glass Animals solidified their Irish presence by playing the city\u2019s Forbidden Fruit Festival in 2018.\u00a0 Their knowingly \u201clazy\u201d experimental electronic style drew a huge crowd, with passionate fans thoroughly enjoying the chilled out experience and recognisable beats.\u00a0 The band went on to live in Dublin for a brief stint, until a horrible accident befell the band\u2019s drummer Joe Seaward, who was hit by a truck while out cycling.\u00a0 Seaward underwent numerous surgeries, but is thankfully okay now; however, at the time Glass Animals had to cancel their European and North American tour dates while waiting for Joe to recover.\u00a0 Dave Bayleys Facebook updates during this time gave fans a glimpse at the close relationship between the band members. Seaward\u2019s full recovery allowed Glass Animals to go on tour once again in early 2019, the string of shows being a sort of \u201ccelebratory\u201d tour for Joe\u2019s restored health.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Dreamland<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Inspired by the harrowing accident of Joe Seaward in 2018, Bayley and the boys are due to release their third studio album, Dreamland<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on July 3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2020.\u00a0 The album\u2019s announcement came after Bayley released the new single \u201cYour Love (D\u00e9j\u00e0 Vu)\u201d.\u00a0 Innovative as always, the single was recorded entirely via Zoom and pays tribute to the upcoming album, Bayley citing the track\u2019s lyrics as being a \u2018table of contents for the album as a whole\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Covid-19 and beyond<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Covid-19 may have the band confined to their homes, but they are still providing us with our much-needed Glass Animals dosage.\u00a0 Check out their Open Source website to access pictures, music samples, and videos.\u00a0 Dave Bayley has been busy attending to his audiences by performing cover requests under the catchy umbrella title of \u2018Quarantine Covers Part 1\u2019, which you can check out here: <\/span><\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"video","video_platform":"youtube","video":"8fL2NDcGym4","facebook_video":"","video_caption":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"copy","copy":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Glass Animals might have to postpone performing live for a while due to the current lockdown restrictions, but they certainly won\u2019t stop pushing the boundaries of music.
