The Incredible Etaoin’s latest single ‘Pale Damp Cheeks<\/a>‘ has been added to the popular Spotify Playlist; \u2018The Most Beautiful Songs In The World<\/a>\u2019. With over 2 million followers, Etaoin is placed alongside the likes of Taylor Swift, and Phoebe Bridgers, in one of the most popular playlists in the world.<\/p>\n

Give her an acoustic guitar and she’ll unhinge the world: Etaoin’s first single\u00a0“Bedroom Walls<\/a>” is currently showing its full potential shining on major playlists across all streaming services – it debuted in Spotify’s New Music Friday UK and is now listed in lists like Chill Singer-Songwriter, Mellow Pop or Easy, apple music showcases the song in over 20 countries\u00a0in In My Room, Zeit f\u00fcr mich or Today’s Acoustic. In only three weeks the song was able to rake in more than 250,000 streams.\u00a0“I can\u2019t believe that people are so nice, I’m genuinely shook – I thought it was gonna flop,”\u00a0says the songwriter, heart on sleeve as usual. The reality is that her immediate lyrics and earthbound instrumentals strike a chord in many listeners.<\/p>\n

Etaoin keeps chewing on her heartbreak on second single “Pale Damp Cheeks”, showcasing intricate fingerpicking and a belting vocal melody. “It was wintertime,” Etaoin remembers about writing the song, “a few days after a boy told me ‘I like you, but I like her more than you.’ And I just sat there feeling so angry at the whole situation. The heating had gone in my house, all the lights were out. There was no one home and I was sitting with my back against the radiator.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Tracy Chapman-esque tune paints the picture of immense aloneness and longing for healing.\u00a0“This song is about wanting to run away from the pride and the anger. I wondered if it was normal to feel so messed up about something. Trying to convince yourself that you are fine and you don\u2019t care, then taking the bandage off and immediately realising: I wasn\u2018t ready, it\u2018s not healed.”<\/p>\n
