easy life<\/a> have today unveiled the video for brilliant new single ‘skeletons’, ahead of the release of their hugely-anticipated debut album \u2018life\u2019s a beach’ (which will be released on Island Records on June 4th). \u2018skeletons\u2019 received its first play on BBC Radio 1 as the Hottest Record in The World, with the band also making their US TV debut in support of the track on Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/p>\n

The \u2018life\u2019s a beach\u2019 headline tour is on general sale now, including a huge homecoming night at Leicester\u2019s Morningside Arena and as life’s biggest London show to date at O2 Brixton Academy (with a second date now added as the first sold out right away).<\/p>\n

The video to ‘skeletons<\/a>‘ was directed by Jamie Whitby. It\u2019s a surreal addition to easy life’s colourful visual world, shot in a one-take style in a world that becomes increasingly cagey, it features a once-seen-not-forgotten shot of Murray riding a haunted horse, amongst a cast of giant skeletons, bewildered locals and band members Cass, Lewis, Sam and Jordan.<\/p>\n

A high-energy\/high-anxiety anthem, ‘skeletons’ has quickly become an instant easy life favourite, from a group forging a new path (and expanded sound) for UK bands on the world stage.\u2018skeletons\u2019 is the second taste of easy life\u2019s debut album, \u2018life\u2019s a beach\u2019 -a sun-kissed world of its own, where (like the band themselves) there is often more than meets the eye. The record was launched recently alongside the powerful opening track \u2018a message to myself\u2019: produced by BEKON (Kendrick Lamar) and with a stunning video courtesy of Andy Baker (\u2018Rick & Morty\u2019), here was a symphonic essay on depression, and a powerful plea for self-love. Observational, universal and deeply personal, this rounded study of forgotten Britain is the album easy life have spent their young lives working towards; with a title that makes total sense, argues Murray, when you\u2019re\u201cfrom slap bang in the middle of the country, geographically as far from the nearest seaside as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fact they\u2019re set to release their debut album as the UK enjoys \u2013hopefully \u2013a safe return to the beach seems oddly fitting for easy life\u2019s unique ascent. Since its announcement, \u2018life\u2019s a beach\u2019 has already been hailed”the quickest-selling album of the year”(Recordstore), with many more surprises still in store from the Leicester-based five-piece. Featuring standout singles \u2018skeletons\u2019, \u2018daydreams\u2019 and \u2018nightmares\u2019, easy life have already charted in the top 10 on 2020\u2019s \u2018Junk Food\u2019 mixtape and won \u2018Best New British Act\u2019 at the 2020 NME Awards for their optimistic, escapist and eclectic sound. A band formed right down to the name itself as an escape (wherever you\u2019re from, or from your inner demons), here is a record -summarises frontman Murray -\u201cthat wishes it was anywhere else but here, yet at the same time fixates on a dreary middle England existence.\u201d<\/p>\n

There may be more rain on the way, but \u2018life\u2019s a beach\u2019 is easy life\u2019s absolute moment in the sun.<\/p>\n
