THE<\/span>\u00a0CURE<\/span><\/b>\u00a0will release\u00a0the<\/span>ir long-awaited new album,\u00a0‘SONGS OF A LOST WORLD’<\/b>, on 1st November.\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0album,\u00a0the<\/span>ir 14th studio release, is\u00a0the<\/span>ir first in 16 years.<\/p>\n

‘ALONE’<\/b>,\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0first song released from\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0album, opened every show on\u00a0their<\/span> tour and is available now. Speaking about\u00a0‘ALONE’<\/b>,\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0opening track on\u00a0‘SONGS OF A LOST WORLD’<\/b>, Robert Smith says:<\/p>\n

“It’s\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0track that unlocked\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0record; as soon as we had that piece of music recorded I knew it was\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0opening song, and I felt\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0whole album come into focus. I had been struggling to find\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0right opening line for\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0right opening song for a while, working with\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0simple idea of \u2018being alone\u2019, always in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0back of my mind this nagging feeling that I already knew what\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0opening line should be\u2026 as soon as we finished recording I remembered\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0poem \u2018Dregs’ by\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0English poet Ernest Dowson\u2026 and that was\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0moment when I knew\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0song – and\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0album – were real<\/i>.”<\/p>\n
