“Be Alright” marks a maturation in Lewis’s career as a singer and poet, but it didn’t come easy.\u00a0\u201cI think a lot of people are in their rooms writing songs, thinking it’s not good enough or wondering why your voice doesn\u2019t sound like everyone else’s. But those things you think are weaknesses are actually your strengths. It\u2019s what makes you unique. And after a bit of time, it\u2019s the thing that gives you confidence,\u201d Lewis says.<\/p>\n
Lewis will be hitting Dublin on the 19th of September at The Button Factory. In a recent interview, Lewis describes his excitement about his upcoming gig:<\/p>\n
I’ve never played in Dublin before, but I’ve heard Irish audiences get really into it so I can’t wait\u2013it’s a dream come true!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Well I spend so much time when I work, I’ve literally heard it 1000 times and gone over every detail so much that I kind of lose perspective of it! I get to a point where I love it, go a bit further to perfect it, then I just send it out to the world and by that point I’m well and truly over it! I’m very proud of the song but once it’s out I try not looking back too much!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It feels unbelievable – I’ve never had a song connect to people like this and it’s doing it all over the world. I feel very lucky and that it could stop at any moment, so I’m just trying to do all I can to enjoy and embrace it.<\/p>\n I bought an album called Frogstomp<\/em> by an Australian band called Silverchair!\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n It’s easy to say my photos are photoshopped but only a hater would say that! Nah, to be honest, my Instagram is a complete joke.
