Lyra, Picture This, The Academic, Aim\u00e9e are among the Irish acts taking part in Songs From an Empty Room, a series of live concerts broadcast on RT\u00c9 2fm, RT\u00c92,\u00a0and the RT\u00c9 Player.<\/p>\n
Twenty of Ireland’s biggest bands and solo artists are coming together for a special broadcast from a host of venues; The Olympia Theatre, Dublin, Cyprus Avenue, Cork, Dolans, Limerick, INEC, Killarney, and Roisin Dubh in Galway to support live music initiatives Minding Creative Minds and the Association of Irish Stage Technicians Hardship Fund at a time when the live music industry faces an uncertain future due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n
With Live venues across the country closed since March, the creative industry has come together to support all elements of the live music scene. With revenue halted for venues, so many support roles, which are vital to the live music experience have been furloughed, with uncertainty around when we can come together to listen to music in-person.<\/p>\n
