Inhaler – It’s True, ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’

Irish Artists

Inhaler are set to release their eagerly anticipated debut studio album, ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ on July 9th.

The Dublin quartet have been building to this occasion for the past couple of years as they have honed their skills and core sound through a series of blistering pop-rock singles, all while touring throughout Europe, Japan and the US.

After returning home from a run of shows in Japan in February 2020, Inhaler were riding a wave which was well and truly beginning to propel the group to new heights. But then the pandemic hit and Inhaler, like many, were forced to hunker down and take stock. Inhaler were forced to hit pause at a time when they were running ahead with plenty of momentum, but after the initial set of hurdles that lockdown brought, they managed to bounce right back. Online Zoom writing sessions provided an opportunity for the band to continue with their process and by the time the summer rolled around, they were able to enter Narcissus Studios in London, with long-term collaborator Antony Genn, to get back to writing the album. The band returned to London in September and after a series of focused studio sessions, Inhaler recorded and fine tuned their debut.

‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ features 11 tracks which are packed full of expansive indie-rock grooves and anthemic choruses. The record will be available digitally, on CD, cassette and vinyl, with a limited edition marble green LP available exclusively in Ireland.

Fittingly, the album opener is the re-recorded track of the same name. ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ was first released back on 19 March 2019 and the track is layered with sweet synth textures, sweeping indie-rock guitar sections and a driving rhythm section.

Alongside the announcement of their debut album, Inhaler released the fan-favourite ‘Cheer Up Baby’. The single sets the tone for the forthcoming album with its rich guitar melodies and powerfully anthemic vocals. To date, the track has peaked at number 6 in the Irish Homegrown Top 20.

Inhaler checked in on The Late Late Show with James Corden for an electrifying live performance of ‘Cheer Up Baby’ following the announcement of their album. The Dublin group have recently lined up a UK & Ireland tour for the end of 2021. With ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ released in July and given Inhaler’s record of sensationally captivating live performances, the bands run of shows are sure to be a major point of excitement for their established fans and new audiences alike.

In case you missed it – the incredible Emmalene Blake has created a stunning mural in central Dublin, just off of Grafton Street. The title of the album, presented in bold text on the side of the street. Perfectly echoing the mood of the nation, and the times we live in. Also, it’s been featured in the RTÉ News!
