 From house jams to indie-pop anthems, Irish artists are providing us with a fine selection of new music already this year.

Inhaler

Dublin quartet Inhaler are set to release their debut album, ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ on July 16th 2021. The band have released the indie rock gem ‘Cheer Up Baby’ as the first official single from the album. The 2019 single ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ has been re-recorded for the album, which will drop on an exclusive marble green vinyl, available only in Ireland!

Etaoin

Born in the UK to Irish parents, Etaoin is a newcomer to the world of folk-pop and has been grabbing the attention of audiences online with her intricate fingerpicking guitar style and powerful vocal. ‘Pale Damp Cheeks’ is a breathtaking stripped back Tracey Chapman-esque folk ballad.

 

Shane Codd

Dublin born, Cavan based electronic producer Shane Codd broke through onto the dance scene last year with his feel good house hit ‘Get Out My Head’. The track peaked at number 5 in the Irish singles charts, number 6 in the UK singles chart and blew up on TikTok. With more new music on the way in 2021, Shane Codd is one to keep your eyes on in 2021!

Cian Ducrot

Irish-French singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot has just released his pop ballad ‘Crocodiles’. The track is based around a sweet guitar composition which builds to sensational arrangements consisting of strings, electronic components and powerful cinematic percussion. Ducrot’s first single ‘Not Usually Like This’ was released back in February 2021 and the melancholic pop record has been making waves since.

Picture This

Hailing from Athy, pop rock outfit Picture This have been gaining momentum here in Ireland in recent years and with a stunning performance of their poignant single ‘Things Are Different’ on James Corden’s Late Late show, filmed at Croke Park, the group are sure to be catching the attention of audiences further a field. With a string of singles released last year, as well as two albums released to date, the group remain one of the most exciting acts from within Irish shores.
