The Beatles Abbey Road, the second-last Beatles album released has a special place in fan’s hearts. While ‘Let it Be’ was released as the last album, much of the music was written before ‘Abbey Road’. This year, the famous album turned 50, joining other Beatles albums reaching the half-century mark. So we decided to do a little something special to celebrate the milestone.
Abbey Road album isn’t just famous for being a fine piece of music, it’s also known for that famous image. A photo that lives on in the public memory, and is constantly subject to fan versions. It’s little known that the image wasn’t randomly taken, but went through a series of outtakes before the band all agreed on the right one.
To celebrate not only the album, but the famous wall at Abbey Road, and the crossing; we brought a little of London to Dublin. Our offices on Aungier Street were turned in to a piece of Abbey Road, street sign and all for fans of The Beatles to send their messages to the band on this special anniversary. The response was INCREDIBLE. So many people came down to say hi, and write their messages to The Beatles.
To celebrate, we put together this very special video piece, showing some of the messages sent so far.
